Bev's is as a wine bar should be: humbly obsessed with experiencing great wines. They're not out to re-invent any cuisine, or create a name for themselves with a splashy chef, they simply provide you with wine friendly nosh that complements your evening of sipping. High quality cheese, simply crusty bread and a great view of the city make this quiet spot a wine lover's haven.

I expected more based on the hype. Perhaps it was the time of day-- we elected to sit outside and enjoy a fine Minnesota late afternoon and could barely hear ourselves talk in between the trucks, buses, and cars racing onto 394. Or perhaps it was the mushroom "pate"--a grainy tapenade of semi-tasteless mush. I give the server kudos for his easy style, wine recommendations, and unobtrusive service, however. Wine prices are a bit high for a reasonably wide but uninspiring selection. Limited wine and food menu.

Great wine selection, had a delicious red blend. Menu is limited but what they do offer is very good and inexpensive. Ordered the pizza with mozarella and added goat cheese. Excellent! Hearty crust, mounds of goat cheese, and served piping hot. One caveat: pizza comes in one size only, so not likely to feed more than two people, especially if they are hungry. Also ordered the spinach salad which had a delicious balsamic dressing. Ambience is nice (soft lighting and plenty of tables for two) but didn't feel the most intimate due to the wide open space.

Very nice recommendation on the Oregon Pinot Noir and some lovely cheese plates. A great place for happy hour. Have two bottles. We did.
